Kappa

kappa.jpgEstablished in Turin, Italy in 1916, the company was formerly called Maglificio Calzificio Torinese and was in the business of manufacturing socks. It was only in 1967 that the name Kappa was trademarked, and the progressive company was born.

Using the silhouette of a man and woman sitting back-to-back as a logo and an identity, Kappa soon turned into a well-known brand. While initially producing casual clothing, Kappa turned its focus to what was then a new category - sportswear. Kappa immediately got busy obtaining sponsorships with numerous sporting organizations across various kinds of sports. With its soaring popularity in sports, Kappa apparel soon leaked into the fashion scene during the ‘90s.
