About

Retro brands with a rich cultural history.

Retro Star London was created in 2007 by John Fried, ex-owner of cult shop Fans London, which was located in Soho, London.

The aim of Retro Star London was to combine a Mod Shop, Punk Shop, Rockabilly Shop and Retro Sports shop into one shop carrying the best iconic clothing of all the subcultures.

In the beginning, Retro Star’s stock was stored in John's attic, packed at the kitchen table and lugged up to the local sub-post office in a sack.

Soon, the kitchen table was outgrown so premises were found nearby and a postal collection set up.

Fast forward two years, stock and staff numbers were increasing, so once again Retro Star was on the move.

We are presently located just off the North Circular Road in North London.

Our vision at the birth of Retro Star was to showcase brands with history, influenced by British youth culture and music like Merc London, Lambretta, Chenaski and Relco.

As with all businesses we have evolved and have expanded our retro vision into 4 broad areas Cult, Sportswear, Classic and American. At the core of everything is our love for retro brands and designs.

Ironically what we love about Retro fashion like quality, design and sustainability is now becoming main stream as people move away from fast fashion.
