Established in 1953, RJC Kalaheo manufactures shirts that capture the essence of the Hawaiian tropical lifestyle. Founded by Mr. Robert J. Clancey, RJC Kalaheo has remained a family owned and operated company ever since the company’s launch.
A WW2 Navy veteran, Clancey was Boston-born and shifted to Los Angeles after the war. After getting into the garment industry, he moved to Hawaii and got a job with a wholesale distributor. He soon rented a warehouse to distribute wholesale merchandise for a local Hawaiian-wear manufacturer. Hawaiian shirts have been made iconic from featuring in film, seen on celebrities from Elvis Presley to Leonardo DiCaprio.
